Project

This is the job header for the entire estimate. Add individual scopes such as Deck, Concrete or Drywall from the left menu.

Work calculator

Choose the work you are calculating. This does not change the main project type.

Enter measurements to calculate quantities.

Calculators are preliminary quantity estimates. Confirm waste, openings, structural specifications, site conditions and local code before quoting.

Material Takeoff Calculators — V15

Quantity estimates only. No amount from these calculators is added to the project cost or selling price. Confirm manufacturer coverage, plans, waste and site conditions.

Concrete Calculator — V15

Detailed concrete takeoff modeled after the Deck workflow. Quantities are preliminary and must be checked against site conditions, plans, reinforcement requirements and local code. Nothing enters project totals until Add to Work Sections.

Concrete geometry

Base & forms

Reinforcement

Demolition, labor & equipment

Target margin applies to this Concrete Work Section. Project-wide expenses such as GC, permits and insurance remain in Costs / PDF and affect final project margin separately.

Enter concrete dimensions to calculate.

Material quantities will appear here.

Re-transferring to the same section replaces material lines and calculated labor/equipment/other amounts created by this Concrete Calculator instead of duplicating them.

Framing Calculator — V15

Detailed wall-framing takeoff. Hunter automates repeatable quantities, but headers, load-bearing walls, engineered members, fireblocking, bracing, connectors and structural requirements must still follow approved plans and local code.

Wall layout

Automatic framing extras

Operational takeoff assumptions are visible below so the calculation is fast and predictable. Change the counts of corners/openings; the extra-stud assumptions remain fixed for this V15 workflow.

Plates, blocking & special materials

Labor & costs

Target margin applies to this Framing Work Section. GC, permit, insurance and other project-wide expenses remain in Costs / PDF.

Add a wall run to calculate framing quantities.

Enter wall dimensions to calculate.

Updating the same destination replaces quantities and calculated costs created by this Framing Calculator rather than duplicating them.

Drywall Calculator — V15

Room/surface takeoff for drywall hanging and finishing. Hunter calculates sheet quantities and common consumables from visible assumptions; specialty assemblies, fire ratings, shaft wall, moisture-resistant board and inspection requirements still require plan/product verification.

Areas / rooms

Board & consumables

Labor & other costs

Target margin applies to this Drywall Work Section. Project-wide GC, permit, insurance and other expenses remain in Costs / PDF.

Add a room or enter known surface SF.

Enter drywall measurements to calculate.

Electrical Calculator — V15

Point-based electrical takeoff for estimating. Device counts, circuit requirements, breaker sizing, cable type, box fill, AFCI/GFCI protection, panel capacity and code compliance must be verified against the plans and applicable electrical code.

Electrical scope

Material unit costs

Cable & miscellaneous

Labor & other costs

Enter electrical point quantities.

Enter electrical point quantities to calculate.

Plumbing Calculator — V15

Fixture/rough-in takeoff for estimating. Pipe sizes, slopes, venting, fixture-unit loading, cleanouts, backflow protection and code requirements must be verified from plans and field conditions.

Fixture / rough-in counts

Fixture/point material unit costs

Pipe & rough materials

Labor & site costs

Enter fixture/rough-in quantities.

Enter plumbing quantities to calculate.

Flooring Calculator — V15

Flooring takeoff for LVP, laminate, hardwood and tile. Product coverage, layout, expansion gaps, substrate requirements, adhesives, mortar/grout coverage and manufacturer instructions must be verified before purchasing.

Floor areas

Floor material & trim

Labor & other costs

Add floor areas or enter total SF.

Enter flooring measurements to calculate.

Painting Calculator — V15

Interior/exterior paint takeoff using measured surface area, coats and product coverage. Actual coverage varies with substrate, texture, color change, spray/back-roll method and manufacturer specifications.

Paint areas

Paint & primer

Trim, doors & labor

Add paint areas or enter known paintable SF.

Enter paint measurements to calculate.

Deck Calculator — V15

Decking, preliminary structure, stair runs and independent landings. Enter your own prices; calculations are estimates, not structural design. No financial values enter the estimate until you confirm Add to Work Sections.

Footings, hardware, framing & railing

Hunter auto-derives repeatable quantities whenever possible. Default takeoff assumptions: double 2×12 rim/band on open sides, two 2×4 railing rails, 4×4 guard posts at a 6 ft maximum spacing assumption, and wood 2×2 balusters (1.5 in actual) with a 2.5 in clear gap. Structural design, guard connections, footing sizes and local requirements still require approved-plan verification.

Optional hardware quantities will appear here.

Stairs — configurable runs

Split the total steps among runs. The number of treads can differ from risers; verify site dimensions, geometry, handrails, stringers and local code.

Landings — independent platforms

Add lateral extensions and turning platforms individually. Their framing and support costs must be confirmed against the approved plan.

Target margin is optional. Example: 30% margin means profit equals 30% of the selling price. Leave at 0 to set the selling price manually in Work Sections.

Enter dimensions to calculate.

Transfer only after confirmation. Re-transferring to the same section replaces previous Deck Calculator items and labor rather than duplicating them. Selling price remains manual.

Work Sections — Costs & Profit

Add each job separately. Materials are itemized and summed; labor, equipment, other costs, and selling price are separate. The PDF is for internal review only.

Legacy estimate items — reference only (V15)

These legacy lines are preserved for migration review, but do not enter V15 financial totals. Move verified costs into Work Sections.

Project Expenses & Financial Analysis

The selling price is entered manually in Work Sections. These project-wide expenses reduce estimated profit. Legacy markup inputs below are kept only for compatibility and do not affect V15 totals.

Project Expenses — Internal Costs

Project-wide costs deducted from estimated profit and included in the confidential internal PDF. Do not duplicate these amounts inside Work Sections.

Total project expenses: $0.00

Internal project notes

V15 team test: confidential internal report includes costs, selling price, profit and margin. Do not send to customers.
